I hinted at my upcoming “Halloween gang” in my last post! It isn’t themed around Halloween, it’s just colorful and terrifying at the same time.
Jacob Lynch is one of the Malifaux masters I have always wanted to play, but never got around to actually do something with the crew. As I have the majority of the models for his keyword, I decided to just let loose and work on our favorite crew of bad-doers, dishing out narcotics and eating their souls afterwards.
I went for a base theme that to me embodies a regular structure we see, becoming an irregular and broken version of its self. Basically depicting to you what will happen with your models on ‘brilliance’ as the anti drug campaign from the early 90s did with eggs in a pan.
I really do not like the old Jacob Lynch model (looking forward to seeing the new M3E one tho!). So I went for a proxy from Knight Models’ DC universe range. Here I present to you: Jacqueline Lynch
After dry fitting her onto the base I realized how much Jacob Lynch’s skeleton fit well with my girl here. I left the head away to depict her creating it out of thin air, maybe from the life energy of a hapless junky to create another creature to do her bidding?
I’m really happy with her pose on the base and she looks great there!
Here is the rest of the crew prepped and based.
Quite the large gang. I am still missing the third Illuminated and Kitty. I will wait to see the new box before I add those to my crew.
After getting the gang prepped and ready I gave them a quick and decent dark grey base coat via airbrush. It makes them look a bit more menacing…
I intend on painting the majority of the model’s in blacks, greys and whites. This will make sense a bit later down the road. I also wanted to try out some scale 75 white paint on glazing over highlights and stuff on a grey to white base.
So I grabbed my airbrush again and started gradually building up some zenithal paint jobs on the parts of the model’s that are going to be ‘white’.
This crew really has me excited for the next upcoming parts. First I need to paint the models.
I’m still pondering on the base color sceme… I do have ideas though…
Anyway that is my first post on these guys! My gang for our upcoming November test campaign! See you next time~
Really cool! Got me thinking again about a horror project that’s been banging around in my head. Thanks for the inspiration. π
Thanks! π
What kind of a horror project? Malifaux related? π
No. It’s mainly models that I’ve designed and 3D printed.
Oh? What kind? π
What kind of printer?
