I kind of forgot to post here for a while. I have been keeping myself busy with some painting. I finished these models a few weeks ago.
The first model is one of the Morlock Group. A Sort of tribe in Nomad society with wild and crazy killers. They are in a way the mutants of Infinity. I am pretty satisfied with this model. I really wanted to have at least one of these models painted in case I would need them to play with. Low cost models like these are great gap fillers in army rosters.
I have been approached by others concerning her tail coat. It looks pretty darn flat on these images. Mostly purely orange. I blame the photos. I used some good amounts of yellowish highlights on it and it looks far better in person. Come to Berlin, if you don’t believe me. Ha ha.
My third Moderator. I am probably the most satisfied with this model amongst all of my Nomads. Somehow I feel that the color scheme best suits and is pulled off on this model. I dig the hair a lot for some reason. I am not sure, if it is because of the orange headband that contrasts a lot with it, or if it just suits the model in a way that makes it look awesome in my eyes. It’s hard to describe, but I think you get the point: I DAMN STRAIGHT LIKE IT!
The next four models are the so-called Bakunin Überfallkommando. An Elite group of awesome. They rock the game in-game and are stunningly awesome looking models.
The Chimera leads this pack of bestial creatures. A genetically modified agent, who basically infiltrates dark circles to take down crime in a very fashionable way. I love this model a whole lot. I tried to go for an orange tabby cat look to her. It turned out a bit darker than planned, but ultimately I got it to a point that satisfies me. To be honest I could have done a bit more work on her, but after grinding out those four models I just didn’t have the energy to make her ‘perfect’.
The fox is probably my best executed model of the four. The fur work is my pride and joy and I am really happy with how he looks. As with the other models I tried to paint them as realistic as possible. I used various fox references. This model reminded me that fur on models is damn made for dry brushing. Or is it the other way around? Ha, ha!
The cheetah guy is kind of okay. I think I would have put more work into him if I would like the model more. It’s supposed to be a cheetah (officially) but the damn animal has a mane. The tail is also more or less that of a lion. Part of me wants to redo this guy and just paint him up as a lion. I may consider this as an additional side project for the future, once I have more Infinity models ‘out of the way’.
The goat is another model I really enjoy of this set. He is the most dynamic of the lot and fluff wise the most fitting in his pose. The others just look like they are standing around, which is fine, but kind of dulls it down a bit. It’s a nice refresher to have a model like this in the bunch to remind people there is some action on the table! I tossed in some mean looking patterns of fur on his face to accentuate his menacing look. I think it turned out just fine.
That is about all of the Nomads I have painted up for the time being. I am working on another Infinity project, which I will present in a following post in the next couple of days.
I am unsure in which direction to take my Nomads. I really want to go for a swarm list. Tossing out lots of awesome low-cost models to mess around with my opponent. I will probably include Zoe and Pi-Well in my next to paint models for my Nomads. A Prowler and a Zero may be what I need as well. I guess I will have top just see how things develop.
Great looking pieces! Makes me want to break out my own paints and get started! Now if only I had some Infinity models… 😉
You should buy some then. But do the painting in general. Its a good productive thing. lol
I have a lot of things to get through before I can even consider that. Robotech, misc commissions, and Super Dungeon Explore @_@
Paint up some Robotech stuff. Haven’t seen any of that in a long time. 🙂
