Not really a Myrmidon’t! Let’s keep this up!

The first post of the year 2015. Damn I have been too busy to post anything. It is a shame in a way and yet I feel excited anew to kick some blog ass and post all kinds of nonsense 3 people in the world will read. So here we go with some more Infinity goodness!

With a decent amount of Thorakitai finished for my band of Aleph butt-kickers, I have decided to add another standard group of soldiers to the mix. The so-called Myrmidons. Elite special soldiers used to pretty much wreck anything your opponent throws at you.

My first finished model would be this lovely lass with a big glowing orange sword of doom.

One of my favorite Aleph miniatures. I wanted to go for something interesting with her hair and went for some streaks of blue here and there. A nice contrast and a way for moe to incorporate a color I usually do not use in my own miniatures. She was my first model to define the look of the many Myrmidons yet to come. I must say I am pleased with the outcome of my color scheme on here.

The next miniature is a higher ranked version of the Myrmidon. The Myrmidon Officer.

Yes. More blue! A really great model to paint. She is basically a Myrmidon with the capabilities of leading the entire army in case of a fallen Lieutenant. She is also the first model in my army to have a Boarding Shotgun. Another new addition to my army palette.

My third and last miniature of this post is a special (one of many) Myrmidon character models. Machaon, the bat shit insane doctor.

I kept with another cool color for his hair. A nice shade of purple to offer even more color variety join my army. This guy was a blast to paint. I painted him with some friends at our local gaming store. It was fun getting instant feedback on some portions I have painted and I was even able to alter some tid-bits based on criticism.
I wanted to paint him in a way, so that he looks really menacing. Heck, I would even go as far as to call him a ‘bad guy’, though Infinity armies are neither really good nor bad. It all depends on view points. I think I managed to give him a sinister look. Proper for a guy who can lead armies of artificial intelligence and mend potential wounds (not to mention cause them…). His coat was challenging to paint. I was unsure on how to paint it, seeing as it was a large addition to the usual Myrmidon look. It turned out nice and looks like a dark trench coat. Rather unusual for a high-class medic.

With that I will end this post. My next row of Aleph models will be supportive ones. Small little helpers to add to my already growing war band of awesome.

Thanks! It has really been growing on me. The more I paint it the more I like it. Especially when you see several models grouped together. 🙂
